Top Safety Award Honors The Weitz Company

Lenexa, KS – Weitz-Kansas City, general contractors received a top honor during the recent Missouri and Kansas Builders Association Safety Excellence Awards Program by ranking first in the 100,000 work hours or less category. The annual awards are sponsored by The Builders Association, Missouri Division of Labor Standards, Kansas Department of Labor, and OSHA Kansas City Area Office.

The Weitz Company has one of the finest safety programs and one of the lowest injury rates of any construction company in the U.S. Its Experience Modifier Rate (EMR) of .51 for 2008/2009 is well below the industry standard of 1.0.
