WATTS CONSTRUCTORS IS HAWAII’S BEST PLACES TO WORK

HONOLULU – April 1, 2010 - Watts Constructors was awarded first place in the medium company category for the Best Places to Work in Hawaii. The list of “Best Places to Work” is sponsored by ProService Hawaii and published annually by Hawaii Business magazine. As in previous years, the company data are gathered and analyzed by an independent research organization, the Best Companies Group, which conducts similar research in states throughout the nation.  This is the third year in a row that Watts was recognized as a Best Places to Work finalist.

This survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Hawaii, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. The Best Places to Work in Hawaii list is made up of a total of 60 companies, split into three groups: 25 small- companies (25-49 employees), 18 medium companies (50-149 employees) and 17 large companies (150 or more employees).

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

  •     Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity;
  •     Have a facility in the state of Hawaii;
  •     Have a minimum of 25 employees working in Hawaii;
  •     Must be in business a minimum of 1 year.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Hawaii. The first part consisted of evaluating each participating company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration, survey and analysis process and determined the final rankings.
